UK MD Hiren Parekh says OVH can now provide customers with local hosting, lower latency and the latest technology.

OVH says its new private cloud platform combines dedicated hardware with the scalability and flexibility of the cloud, as well as virtualisation.

The company, which claims to be Europe’s largest cloud hosting provider, says Software-Defined Datacentre (SDDC) is now available through its recently-opened South East London data centre.

OVH reckons its flagship solution opens up a new way of managing infrastructure in three key areas: data centre extension, data centre replacement, and data centre recovery.

Both the hardware and virtualisation, which uses using VMware technology, are fully managed by OVH.

The company claims it can all be deployed within 60 minutes via its website.

It adds that pricing is fixed, and the packages all include VMware licences, unlimited traffic and guaranteed bandwidth within its 15Tbps+ network.

According to OVH, businesses in the UK now have the opportunity to access VMware technologies in a fully managed infrastructure with an opex approach.

It says SDDC offers “greater” cost savings and an “optimised” total cost of ownership for companies looking to virtualise or to switch from legacy to the cloud.

OVH UK MD Hiren Parekh says: “Private Cloud is our flagship product and, thanks to SDDC, is being made available with latest vSphere 6.5 system, as well as a host of new configurations.

“We are now able to provide our UK customers with local hosting, lower latency and the latest performance-enhancing technology.”
