Accelerated by public cloud adoption, IT environments are evolving rapidly to become more agile and ready to quickly respond to the needs of business departments. In fact, research conducted by analysts at TechTarget's Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) revealed that 96% of enterprises now use the public cloud (IaaS or SaaS).
This has given rise to the development of hybrid cloud environments that combine private data centres with public clouds, with many organisations using two or more public cloud services (IaaS and PaaS). But with the opportunity created by this technology comes the challenges of managing and securing data across multiple locations.

The Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University has benefited from a huge uplift in the scope of its internet access and services for students and international visitors with a new AI-driven Local Area Network delivered by The Networking People (TNP).
TNP recommended the Juniper Mist system to replace the existing outdated network and helped the college develop plans for a complete refresh that has transformed the user experience for internet access and functionality and reduced operational costs.

Conservative MPs are pushing for a tougher response to China following confirmation from security services that hackers backed by Beijing conducted a cyber-attack on the UK's elections watchdog, carrying out surveillance on UK politicians.
The Chinese ambassador will be called upon to account for his nation's alleged actions, which include accessing the personal information of approximately 40 million voters, as held by the Electoral Commission.

The Government Legal Department has spent almost £4m on remote working devices for its staff.
The data, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) revealed that department chiefs spent a grand total of £4,036,009 buying up new laptops, tablet computers and mobile phones. Officials spent 3,812,800 over the last three years on a fleet of 2,135 new laptops.
