Metronet UK calls in GENBAND to help with growing VoIP business

08 September 2015

Metronet (UK) has chosen GENBAND’s session border controller (SBC) and Real Time Session Manager (RSM) to power its rapidly expanding IP voice business.

Having outgrown its previous SIP trunking solution, Metronet says the new solutions give it the advanced technology needed to deliver high quality services on a larger scale.

GENBAND claims its SBC delivers advanced network security, simplified interoperability and session management along with carrier-grade capabilities for SIP trunking and IP interconnect.

It adds that the RSM solution offers the ability to proactively enable and monitor SLAs, provide QoS metrics, and easily enforce subscriber and network policies.

Wayne Mills-Kidals, voice services manager at Metronet (UK), says: “GENBAND’s respected technological prowess, commitment to service and simple API integrations with our back office functions made it the only vendor that could  ensure the VoIP arm of our business is as blue chip as our IP connectivity.”

Metronet (UK) describes itself as the UK’s “most advanced” ISP. Providing IP infrastructure to business customers primarily, its customers includes ao.com, Bruntwood, Intu, MediaCityUK, Lend Lease, Laing O’Rourke, amongst other.
