Nycomm says the acquisition will boost its radio capability.

Nycomm has purchased The Pennine Group in a multi-million pound deal. The precise terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Based in Bury, Pennine was established in 1976 as a two-way radio specialist.

Since then, it has expanded into providing unified communications, mobile solutions, cloud and IT services, and is also the UK distributor for IP handsets from Interquartz and Yealink.

Headquartered in Manchester, the Nycomm Group is a wholesale distributor of communication products. Its brands include Nimans and Rocom, as well as video conferencing and AV equipment specialist Videonations.

Pennine is said to have a turnover of more than £14m per year. Nycomm says the acquisition will boost its own earnings to more than £100m, and help build growth towards its next revenue target of £150m.

With the addition of Pennine’s portfolio, Nycomm claims it now offers an “unparalleled” range of radio, telecoms, UC, hosted, IT services, hire, video, consumer and peripheral products.

Pennine Group MD Andy Roberts will now join Nycomm Group’s board. No job losses have been announced.
